Communication is a social interaction bridge for sharing ideas, opinions and values. In today’s world, media plays an important role in disseminating information. Media is also responsible in shaping our identities; who we are, what we think and what we value. In order to understand the role of media, we need to know how its messages are constructed, circulated and perceived.

Diploma in Media and Cultural Studies is designed to provide knowledge and technical skills for students entering the media communication industry. It prepares students with research skills to investigate the social, economic, political, and practical dimensions of media, both in digital and conventional platforms. The students will be able to critically analyse how the media constructs and circulates messages, and how the audience perceive it.

Industrial visits to relevant media institutions are part of the teaching and learning approaches. It would enhance students to explore the production, consumption and role of media in an ever-changing technological landscape. With the demand of digital transformation extending extensively in our life, human capital in this area will be highly sought, especially in the media and communication industry.
