RULES & REGULATIONS
General Rules
- Patrons are required to wear their student ID card upon entering the library premise
- Library cards or its privileges may not be transferred to other individual
- Bags are not allowed into the Library. Patrons are required to store their belongings in the locker provided. Do not leave any valuables belongings in the locker
- To maintain an environment appropriate for the protection of library materials and conducive to study, no food allowed into the Library
- Littering is prohibited
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas of the University, including Library
- Patrons are responsible in keeping track of materials that are checked out under their names. This can be checked via Student/Staff portal
- Patrons are reminded to return books to the designated trolley after use
- Loss of library material on loan must be reported immediately to the Library
- Students who defer, withdraw, terminate or complete their studies must return all Library materials on loan
- Patrons will need to return all borrowed materials and settle all unpaid book fine before withdrawing or graduating. Failure to do so may result in getting barred from graduating, etc.
- The library will not be held responsible for any misplaced / missing / damaged items belonging to patrons
- The library shall have the discretion to add or amend Library rules and regulations, as and when necessary
Book Loan
- Second- party loan is prohibited
- Patrons with outstanding dues or unreturned items will not be allowed further loan privileges until payment/ return is made
- Patrons are responsible to ensure that all loan items have been properly recorded. This can be checked via Student/Staff portal
- Penalty will be imposed if loaned material is lost, damaged or overdue
Return & Renewal
- Library material must be returned or renewed on or before the due date which can be done at the circulation counter. A book can be renewed two (2) times unless the book has been reserved by another user. After two renewals, users must return the book to the library
- Loaned materials that are overdue will be charge RM0.10 per day
- Loaned materials that are overdue for more than 100 days will be considered as ‘Lost”, hence patrons will need to pay for its replacement.
Facilities
- Only UCSF members are allowed to use library services and facilities
- Computers are available on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations are not accepted

- Patrons may not amend software configurations, load personal software onto the computers, or download programs from the Internet
- Patrons are responsible for any financial costs related to alterations or damage to the computers and related equipment resulting from misuse
- At the end of a computer session, the Comodo software clears the user’s history. Therefore, patrons are not able to save files to the computer. Patrons wishing to save files must use external storage device. The Library will not responsible for any lost content
- Patrons must report any equipment or software problems immediately to Library staff
- Computers are turned off 5-10 minutes before closing time. Patrons should complete their work, including any printing, prior to this time.
- Violation of any of these policies may result in the suspension of computer and/or library use privileges
