21st Century at Its Core

In every of our programme, students will be taught cross disciplinary skills as we envision the new world to be a very integrated, exciting and technology driven world, where the ability to seek and apply new knowledge is looked upon as more important than being restrictive and confined to just a limited number of disciplines. The emphasis is not only on future employability but adaptability.

Students in FME will also learn a third language, alias foreign language as we believe the new world is a tighter and integrated world, where people, trades and businesses will span across many cultures, borders and many continents.

FME Students Will Be Green

Students are also taught to appreciate the environment and to discover the potentials of our surrounding and foresee the emerging trends which will define the hidden values, of the commercialize-able aspects of products or services for an innovative society.

Hence, FME is not only a university of the 21 st century but also one which prepare its graduates for the future, and provides the knowledge and skill which are sustainable, contemporary, relevant and international!

Dean’s Message

We live in a world that is changing rapidly. Major disruptions like the Covid-19 pandemic have changed the way that businesses function. Other disruptions such as AI and Climate Change are on the horizon. Businesses need to prepare for this.

In the Faculty of Management and Entrepreneurship (FME) our tagline is “We Mean Business”. This means that we are serious about developing our students (which include our Tourism and Hospitality students) to be able to work in the challenging, yet exciting, new business world.

Through our Green Concept and Philosophy we try to instill in our students an understanding of sustainability that is vital for today’s and tomorrow’s businesses. Customers are demanding more and more sustainable solutions and are holding companies accountable to ensure products and services are delivered in such a way that they do not damage the environment.

At FME, we therefore try to develop our students to be environmentally literate, technologically literate, and financially literate and have the soft skills to work in tomorrow’s business environments.

And finally, at FME we also try to ensure that the student’s learning journey is not only educational but also fun. We are fully committed to the students’ welfare on their journey with FME.

YEARLY FME DEAN’S LIST AWARD CEREMONY 2023

DATE: 25th October 2023 (WEDNESDAY)
TIME: 10am – 12pm
VENUE: IJAU RESTAURANT AND CAFÉ, UCSF

The Dean’s List is a scholarly award for students who demonstrate academic excellence by achieving a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.75 and above in a semester. The Faculty of Management and Entrepreneurship (FME) Dean’s List award ceremony is an annual event that manifests the faculty’s appreciation and recognition of the students achieving excellent academic performance. This year, the meaningful event was held on 25th October 2023 at Ijau Restaurant and Café, UCSF, involving a total number of 23 FME student award recipients. In his speech, Mr. Najmi Abdullah, The Dean of the Faculty of Management and Entrepreneurship (FME), commented that only around 2.5% of students in FME make the Dean’s List noting that getting a Dean’s List award is truly an outstanding scholarly achievement. He also said that only by producing graduates who are well rounded (which includes being green-savvy, tech-savvy as well as financially-savvy), can UCSF succeed in their mission to produce a workforce that can raise the standards in Sabah and Malaysia. The certificates were handed to the students by the Dean and Deputy Dean (Ms. Norzaini Binti Saupi) in the presence of Faculty of Management and Entrepreneurship (FME) members, parents and other invited guests. The successful event concluded with a photo session and light refreshments.
