The research focuses on identifying the challenges faced by the Bajau Laut community in Sabah. The outcome of this research will be used to propose policy strategies to stakeholders.
- Provide an up-to-date understanding of the Bajau Laut community’s socio-cultural, economic and political settings, building on existing research and studies
- Identify the structural and systemic barriers faced by, and opportunities for, the Bajau Laut community taking into account both internal and external factors and influences in recent years
